I am taking Wellbutrin for adult ADD & depression & it has worked great for me. I am almost done my undergrad degree so I have to be really focused & organized myself. At first it made me a little sick to my stomach but that only last about a week. The other side effects that I had were dry mouth(it helped me drink that 8 glasses of water u r suppose to have every day), I lost about 20 pounds in not even 2 months(this was a combination of this pill, working out & eating better on my own). It did reduce my apetite ALOT & helped me with my ''food adiction''(which most everyone has). I also felt very agitated at first & i still feel a little shakey from time to time but trust me its not bad & it certainly doesnt interfere with my daily life. My depression has also gotten much better. I live about 18 hrs away from home with no one I know around so I was starting to feel very depressed especially around the holidays & when the cold weather hits. I still have my days but its better than when i used to have it for weeks. I seem to be able to cope with things much easier. My grandmother just recently died & being away from everyone was hard but i was pleasantly surprised at how well i dealt with it. I dont know if u also have anxiety, I do, & it didnt make mine worse. Oh, I would also recommend taking a fiber supplement or eating ur veggies. Overall my experience with it has be GREAT!I feel amazing! Everyone thought that I couldnt do my work because I didnt have the motivation. I have all the motivation in the world but its hard to concentrate when a shadow distracts u or if u hear a door close from down the hall. I know this was a little long but I wanted u to get the whole picture!Hope it helps!:)
Sorry, not really related to the question.
If the doctor prescribed it, then I suppose it might work. I took it to quit smoking. The first couple of days on it felt like ''lost days''. I was not quite sure if what I had for breakfast was actually today or yesterday is breakfast. It made me feel very quiet too. (I felt quiet, my hubby said I was acting like a zombie. I did not feel like a zombie, I was actually very content)
Another weird thing too, I watched Star Wars, episode 3 & thought it was the BEST MOVIE ever. Honestly, that was certainly from the drug. I even told the doctor about it & he laughed & said ''well, I've never heard of the ''Star Wars'' effect before.'' What ended up happening is I quit smoking without much discomfort & was adjusting to the drug, then started an allergic reaction. I got hives & my tongue swelled up a little. If I had been able to stick to the medicine, I am sure I would have quit smoking entirely & all the rest (of the side effects) was already starting to even out.
I guess what I am trying to say is that I do not think it is a long adjustment period & it did not affect me too badly. I would give yourself a period to get used to it, it may mess up ur memory at first, then quiet down ur head later which would help u remember the moment.
I can not suggest any drugs to help you. I would suggest taking a look at ur current life & job performance & then trying to develop routines & a journal. It will definitely help u if u can make it into a daily habit.
Once again a drug is not natural and is harmful. It may or may not work for the short term but is definitely dangerous for the long term. It has many side affects including racing thoughts and suicidal thought. If focusing is a weakness for you then so be it. Not everyone is cut out to be a scientist. That is just reality. Some of the most successful entrepreneurs in the world have had trouble focusing.
My husband struggles with ADD and anxiety/depression. The doc gave him Wellbutrin to try at one time and it did not work for him at ALL. It made his anxiety much worse because he experienced racing thoughts which was already a problem for him. What has worked for him was Valium. Because of his ADD the valium does not put him to sleep, but calms him enough to focus. Everyone is chemistry is different and it may take you quite a few things to find the right one for you. Good luck!
they are supossed to,not that they ever do give you wellburin when withdrawing from huge amounts of dex or amphetamine,as it stimulates the front area of the brain, causing neutrons to fire right therefore making withdrawl impossible, they never do.amfetamine should of never been given to man as warned many many years ago...and what do they do,trap you, terorise u,then try and lock u up or kill you to keep stum fking blair/windsor
Have not used Wellbutrin. Supplements help me somewhat, but I have to say that it might be wiser for you to pick a line of work suited to your strengths. Meds can not always fix things. ADD does not just go away because you take meds. Even those of us who learn to cope well with it still find we are less stressed when we choose a lifestyle that is compatible with the blessings and pitfalls of the way our mind works.
