I have been taking Wellbutrin XL 300 for depression and anxiety but it doesn't help my anxiety. Is it common?

I take Wellbutrin SR (150 mg) in the morning, & Lexapro (10 mg) in the evening, for depression & anxiety. I've been taking that for over a year & a half, & it is working very well for me.

I am surprised they would prescribe just Wellbutrin for anxiety - that is why I am taking the Lexapro. From what I've been told, Wellbutrin does not really do much for anxiety.

I tried Wellbutrin XL 300 - & it made me nauseous all the time.

Wellbutrin has an OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder) reduction component. I would have to guess ur anxiety is repetitive thoughts.

I am not knowledgeable on anti-anxiety meds. I do take Seroquel at night. It has the lovely distinction of being called an anti-psychotic. It is prescribed for anxiety along with a host of other diagnoses.

Risperdal cut my anxiety when I took it on a backpack trip through Europe. I still take them as needed.

If u tell ur doctor that u posited a question on the internet, they will sit-up very strait & very fast :) Then they will listen like their job depends on it, because it will. They can not have their patients falling over dead because the patient did not get from the doc & went to the web instead. :)

See if the Dr. will consider adding the smallest dose of Lexapro, ( 10 mg), along with the Welbutrin, or alone. It is fantastic. I have a lot of anxiety and was panicking and the dr put me on it, and it is truly amazing and had government approval for the treatment of anxiety.

I am also on Wellbutrin 300 mgs and no it has not helped at all with my anxiety or depression. My doctor put me on prozac and if it seems to work they are going to wean me off of Wellbutrin. I think Wellbutrin is a lame drug that does not work.

yes i was on it also and it stopped workin that happens alot with most drugs try another drug
theres tons of anxiety meds jus ask ur doctor depends on what ur doctor wants u on

I have not tried Wellbutrin but if it is not helping your anxiety then your doctor should be trying alternatives! One drug does not fit all!

I have had good results with Xanax and Zoloft but everyone is different.

Wellbutrin is not the best SSRI, for anything.

Paxil is great for anxiety but it is really hard to go off of.
