I've been taking Wellbutrin XL for over 2 weeks and still feel depressed. How long to kick in?

It usually takes three to six weeks. I initially was put on zoloft & I gained a ton of weight. Then I went on the wellbutrin & I lost all the zoloft weight plus ten pounds more. It is the most weigt neutral of all the anti depressants. Give the meds a chance to work before u change meds.

All people r different so u have to trial & error until u get the right med in the right dose for U. You dont say how many mg of the med u were subscribed. Perhaps if u dont get the results u r seeking check with ur pdoc & see if u should increase ur dosage.

Supposedly two weeks but I'd tell your doctor to try again. These things made me depressed!

It took me about 3 weeks. It did make me a little aggressive however, it works well. One good side effect, it will make your sex drive triple. I did change from this medication to Lexapro. It works much better without the aggressive side effects.

you probably need to switch to another med. the wellbutrin worked within days for me. it was a life saver. but your body is chemicals might not react to it as well as another type of med. talk to your doc
